Questions
Trail Curious? We've Got Answers.
Everything you need to take your first confident step into the wild.
Do I need any experience to start hiking?
Not at all. Footsteps Into the Wild is designed for total beginners. Our guides start from the very first step — no experience, fitness level, or equipment required.
What shoes do I need for my first hike?
Comfortable, supportive shoes you already own are perfect for short, easy trails. You don't need specialist boots to begin. We have a gentle gear guide when you're ready to explore options.
How long should my first hike be?
Start with 30–60 minutes on a flat, well-marked path. The goal is to enjoy the experience, not to cover distance. Presence over performance, always.
Are your guides suitable for all fitness levels?
Yes. We design every guide with the cautious, the curious, and the just-getting-started in mind. If you can walk, you can hike with us.
What is Leave No Trace?
It's a set of principles for enjoying nature responsibly — pack out what you pack in, stay on paths, respect wildlife, and leave the wild as beautiful as you found it.
